Nature is a mutable cloud which is always and never the same
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
One thing that you can count on is that the beach will be different each and every day. Sometimes the changes are small, sometimes the changes are big. The snowstorms we had a couple of weeks ago had a big impact – the beach is way rockier now than it was a month ago.
Can you believe this rock was completely covered by sand six months ago?!
So were these ones…
Let’s compare September 1st and March 1st… all of the pictures were taken at low tide.
hopefully the sand will return! Walking on rocks might be good for your brain and your balance (isn't that what you told me?) but I prefer walking on firm sand :)
ReplyDeleteWe were at Cherry Hill Beach today...lots of rocks there too.
Yes, the sand will be back :-) The sand sits out on a sandbar not far from the beach over the winter, and then starts to make its way back onto the beach in the spring. Those big rocks will be completely buried under sand again. Kind of boggles the mind!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, walking on rocks is good for the brain & balance & leg muscles :-)
I need to go back to Cherry Hill Beach. And Carter's Beach too. The one time we went there, we were inundated with mosquitoes. No mosquitoes this time of the year!
