Our Nova Scotia ‘hood

Going for a walk here is a lot different than it was in Ottawa. No sidewalks, no stop signs, no crosswalks… basically, we walk along the shoulder of road that can get pretty busy at times. So it may not be the best idea in the world to stand in the middle of the road taking pictures of houses, but I did it anyway :-) I don’t know for sure, but I’m guessing that the majority of the houses on our road were here when horses & buggies were the main form of transportation. Like this cute red house – look how close it is to the road!

A yellow version of pretty much the same house…

And a grey version…

And a white version… do you see a trend here?!

Yep, another one!

This house looks so welcoming. There’s a sign on the front porch that says “Snug Harbour”.

A couple without a window over the porch…

Look! This house ISN’T the same as all the others! ;-)

I really like this barn.

A nice spot to hang out and take in the view…

I’m guessing this is an old boat house. Not sure if it’s still in use.

In contrast to all the traditional houses on our road, there are some really modern houses closer to the beaches. I’ll be posting pictures of those ones soon, stay tuned!

    1. Anne, there are so many houses like these ones around here. I'd love to go inside some of them and see if they still have some of the original details.
