I really really really been want a sliding barn door somewhere in our house. I’ve been trying to convince Brian to put one on the upstairs bathroom, but I keep running into road blocks. Light switch is in the way, wall isn’t wide enough, Brian complains it doesn’t provide enough privacy… I don’t see me winning this battle!
When my friend Victoria was here for a visit in the spring, she suggested putting a barn door on the downstairs bathroom. Which would work – no light switch in the way, wall is wide enough, and privacy isn’t really an issue because you walk through the laundry area before you go into the bathroom.
Interestingly, some of my barn door inspiration pictures are barn doors on bathrooms – hmmmm…
This one is an interesting twist on a barn door – it’s a door and a painting in one :-)
But now I’ve run into a problem – this wall is also the perfect spot for a console table. It’s right next to the entry, so it would be convenient to have a spot to put down keys and mail. And it’s one of the few walls in the house where I could hang a piece of art.
It would be nice to have room for a barn door AND a console table :-)
So, what way would you go? The console table would probably be more functional. but I love barn doors!
Barn door, barn door !!! love that idea. Lunch some time ? xo S
